How You Can Find Cheap HP Ink Cartridges
So you have grown tired of paying the ridiculously high prices charged for new HP ink cartridges. Maybe you have even found yourself dreading the “empty cartridge” warning and the dreaded shopping trip, but don’t worry. There are different ways to save, even on Hewlett-Packard ink.
The initial and easiest option for most people is to stick with the HP ink cartridges, but start to “shop around.” As is the way with any product, there are varying prices from one supplier to the next. A great place to start your hunt is www.google.com/products. This site, and others like it, has done a lot of the work for you, displaying a list of the vendors and their prices for the product you enter into the search line.
Although this may save you a little, more savings could be achieved if you consider buying in bulk at stores like Sam’s Club. When buying in bulk, the costs to the manufacturer are less and a part of those savings are sometimes passed on.
An additional thing to consider is buying ink refills. These refill kits can be purchased online or in ink supply stores. Prices of kits and quantity of ink included vary, so it would be wise to do a little price comparison. To purchase online, simply search the cartridge number and HP ink refill kit, for example “97 HP ink refill kit.” These kits generally come along with an instruction manual, or “how-to” guides and instructional are available online. The basic idea is simple. You are instructed to insert a needle into holes located on the top of the cartridge and then slowly fill. After refilling the cartridge to the appropriate level, the holes in the cartridge can be re-covered with included covers or with tape, and then the cartridge is ready to be put back into the printer.
If the price of HP ink is too much and you don’t want to bother with refilling your own cartridge, then you still have options such as re-manufactured ink or an alternative. There are good ink brands that are available that make cartridges to fit the HP models. To locate these do a search like “HP 97 compatible” in a price comparison site like mentioned above. Re-manufactured ink is alike. Re-manufacturing companies use the original cartridges, replace any parts that need replacing, clean them and refill them, then sell them for a significantly cheaper price than a brand new cartridge.
Another option, perhaps less ideal is to consider is to purchase a new printer. The price of printers has dropped significantly in recent years, while quality continues to improve. Another company’s cartridges might be more desirable when you take into account there are others that have cheaper ink cartridges.
Whether you choose to stay with HP products, go for an alternative, or go for an in between, you won’t have cut your budget, shorten your documents, or print off personal documents at work in secret anymore. HP
